NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF IPOKIA STUDENTS (NAIS) Expresses Discontent Over The Egregious Downplay of Hon. Wahab Aruna

The leadership of National Association of Ipokia Students under the stewardship of Comrade Bankole Olabode PKA (Banky B), write to express our discontent over the egregious downplay of Hon. Wahab Aruna representing YEWA NORTH II by the Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly Rt Hon Olukunle Oluomo  on a radio programme at fresh FM Abeokuta regarding the establishment of proposed Moshood Abiola University of Technology (MAUTECH) in Ipokia. In his statement he said the proposed institution should be relocated to Ogun Central Ibogun, Ifo local government hence the need for this write up.

For the purpose of clarity, we wish to state the reasons why the suggestion for relocation of the proposed institution is deemed utterly distressing and inconsequential

1. The project (MAUTECH) if completed as his Excellency Governor Dapo Abiodun pledged, would be the first  public University established in the whole YEWA land.
2. The project (MAUTECH) was already kicked off by immediate past administration with several edifice erected already.
3. The project if completed will serve as incentive for YEWA people who hitherto, has been marginalised neglected and forgotten.

In light of the above highlighted reasons, we urge the Speaker to desist from such erroneous impression and see to it that this laudable project is completed as well as need to render selfless service to the entire YEWA land who have be longing so long for the dividends of democracy.

In the same vein, we recognise and encourage the assiduous and unrelenting efforts of Hon. Haruna Egungbohun who has been the mouthpiece and frontrunner in the race to ensuring the project is completed at the proposed location.

We also beseech other distinguished Honourable members representing different constituencies in Yewa and Ado-Odo.The Likes of Hon Mrs Sikirat O Ajibola( Ipokia), Hon Mrs Lateefat Ajayi (Yewa South), Hon Adeyanju Adegoke O (Yewa North I), Hon Wahab Haruna Abiodun ( Yewa North II), Hon Akingbade Jemili Adigun( Imeko Afon) , Hon Sherif Abiodun Yussuf(Ado Odo Ota I), Hon Lamidi Musefiu Olatunji( Ado Odo Ota II) to rally around Hon. Haruna Egungbohun by prevailing on the house to guarantee the completion of the project in the proposed site as contrary to other regions with one or two State Universities, such Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Taye Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode etc

Finally, without equivocation, we urge His Excellency Governor Dapo Abiodun, the undisputed students Governor to fulfil his promise to complete the proposed project in due time.
