Ahmed Musa, the captain of the Super Eagles, has legally signed a short-term contract with Kano Pillars, the four-time Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions.

This was said by the club's Media Officer, Rilwan Malikawa, in a statement issued on Friday in Kano.

Musa signed the short-term contract on Thursday in the club's secretariat, according to the release.

Shortly after signing the contract, the Super Eagles captain stated that he will be returning to the club to contribute his own quota till the end of the 2020/21 NPFL season.

He committed to do all in his power to help the team win the current NPFL season.

"I left Pillars over ten years ago without winning the league, but today, with God's help, I will set a new record by guiding the club to the NPFL championship," he stated.

He complimented the club's management, players, and fans for keeping the connection going.

Alhaji Surajo Shuaibu, chairman of the club, expressed happiness at Musa's choice to rejoin the club 10 years later and asked him to feel at home as always.

Shuaibu asked him to use his considerable knowledge to help the club progress and told him that the club would release him if he received an offer outside of Nigeria.

Musa was given the historic No. 7 jersey, according to the announcement.

After departing Saudi Arabia Professional League team Al Shabab in October, the former Leicester City winger has been without a club.
