President Buhari's decision to combat insecurity is lauded by NANS.
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has praised President Muhammadu Buhari for his efforts to combat insecurity in the country thus far.
Mr Olatunji Emmanuel Adegboye, Southwest Coordinator of NANS Southwest, issued the commendation in a statement issued on Thursday in Abeokuta.
Adegboye Olatunji stated that the President had done well in flushing out criminals wreaking havoc in the country's North West region, and that the government had already taken steps in the right direction.
He noted that the Federal Government's designation of bandit groups as terrorist organizations was heartening news.
The coordinator stated that the association supported the federal government's decision.
He urged the government not to be soft on the issue of terrorism and Boko Haram, claiming that doing so would undermine citizens' trust in the government.
Adegboye stated that the government should continue to provide adequate support to all security agencies in their efforts to combat insecurity.
"This should be combined with a pro-people and Nigerian judicial system that will not only try to apprehend terrorists but also sentence them to death."
